Self-control

Think clearly and exercise self-control (1 Peter 1:13; NLT).

If we could control our tongues, we would be perfect (James 3:2; NLT).

Lord,

Please help me
To be aware
Of every thought,
So I can control my tongue,

Rather than gossiping,
Criticising others,
Swearing,
Or losing my temper.

Lord Jesus,
May I always speak
The truth in love,
Like you.

Speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ (Ephesians 4:15; NLT).
