Welcome to the heart of the gospel

Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile” (Mark 6:31; NLT).

This site offers you a quiet place to rest on your path through life. We are all subject to many trials and sorrows, but Jesus is everything we need for the journey.

For a simple overview of what this site is about, please click on: The heart of the gospel, which is on the top-level menu. For a deeper dive into aspects of Christ’s teaching, you can click on individual topics.

My focus here is on Jesus’ life, example and teaching, and their relevance to our daily lives. I aim to offer visitors an opportunity to reflect on key aspects of the gospel within a loving, calm and peaceful space.

Everything here is free and fully accessible. You are warmly welcome to share my writing with others. Each day, I pray for everyone who visits this site, just as I do for those who visit its sister website of original daily blogs: Take heart, at: ruthkirk.org.

With love and blessings, from Ruth xxx

Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Matthew 11:28-9; NLT).

Three things will last forever – faith, hope, and love – and the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13; NLT).
